Branding new life into an ancient tool.

This fine company was family owned and operated in the heart of Baltimore Maryland for over 100 years. But as solid and well regarded as Baltimore Tool Works was in the world of handtools , the business was quickly running out of steam.

The central problem being the primary product line was the cold chisel. An ancient tool that had not changed since its creation hundreds of years ago. Still to this day, it was being manufactured in the same primitive fashion. Pounded out by hand in hot fire and hammered steel.  But the good news was things were about to change. The Company's owner had reinvented the basic chisel by adding an unbreakable polymer cap and oil resistant cushion grip ,resulting in tools that are safer, more accurate and comfortable to use. He called this breakthrough "HardCap".technology.

We were commissioned to rebrand Baltimore Tool Works

and also create the new product branding

for the“HardCap” product line. This included packaging, displays, and point of sale promotions, all to be created within a 90 day deadline. 

A year after the successful launch of our HardCap branding , tiny Baltimore Tool was purchased by tool giant Mayhew, who had the power to successfully bring HardCap Technology into worldwide distribution, and our previous Baltimore Tool Works owner into a new career of fly fishing in Montana.
